JPG, PNG or WebP: which format should you use?

Pick the right output format for smaller files and sharper images.

JPG

Best for photos. Lossy compression gives the smallest files — ideal for product shots and marketplace listings.

PNG

Best for logos and graphics with transparency. Lossless, so no quality loss — but larger files.

WebP

Best for the web. Around 25–35% smaller than JPG at similar quality — great for page speed.

Tip: convert to WebP for fast web pages, JPG for photos, and PNG when you need transparency.

Bulk image resizer FAQ

Is it really free?

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no account and no watermark.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser on your own device, so your images never leave your computer.

How many images can I resize at once?

As many as your browser can handle — typically hundreds. Very large files use more memory, so huge batches may be slower.

What formats can I export?

Keep the original format, or convert everything to JPG, PNG or WebP. You can also adjust quality to reduce file size.

Will resizing reduce quality?

Downscaling uses a high-quality resampler, so images stay sharp. Upscaling is off by default — turn on "Allow upscaling" if you want to enlarge images toward a target size.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in any modern browser — nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.

Can I resize images for a specific marketplace?

Yes — one-click presets cover Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, eBay and social platforms, sizing each batch to that platform's recommended dimensions.

What's the difference between crop, pad and stretch?

In Exact size mode, Crop fills the frame and trims the overflow, Pad fits the whole image and adds padding, and Stretch forces the exact dimensions. Crop is best for uniform thumbnails.

Can I convert JPG to WebP or PNG in bulk?

Yes. Pick an output format — JPG, PNG or WebP — and a quality level. WebP is smallest for the web; PNG is lossless.

Can I make small images larger?

By default we only downscale to keep images sharp, but you can turn on "Allow upscaling" in Max or Preset mode to enlarge toward a target size.
